While the facination with soccer is not as strong within the United States, it is interesting to read updates from countries in other parts of the world. While Americans are more in tune with baseball, basketball, and our version of football, most of the rest of the world adores soccer. This article relates how important success within soccer is to national prestige and pride.
Article's Relation to "Culture"
Sporting events and competition are significant parts of culture. Soccer (or football) is the dominating athletic competition sport within most countries, outside of the United States, and this is especially true for countries within South America. Bolivia's abiltity to limit Argentina's quest for success will add to its own national prestige.
